After more than
40 years of quiltmaking I have come to the conclusion that
quilts are like potato chips: I can't sew just one!
I sew three kinds of quilts: crazy quilts, quilts
using fulled wool, and patchwork piecing (not traditional).
I invite you to browse around my site by clicking on the
different styles of quilts. Some of these pages are heavy with
graphics; please be patient while they load. You might
want to maximize your screen for easy viewing.
I love to use my computer to play around with quilt designs. I also like to use quilt patterns on small gift items; check out my Quilter’s Refrigerator Magnets on the Patterns and Kits page. They are perfect to slip inside a card for a quilting friend, an inexpensive gift or thank you.
If you want
to read a humorous, first person account of filming a segment
of Simply Quilts, just click on the link to the left. My
segment on fulled wool quilts
was broadcast on HGTV as the 25th episode of the tenth
season on September 20, 2004.
I've added
several new pages such as the What's New page, Patterns and
Kits, and finally a Links page. I've also updated my
Classes and Workshops page, should you be looking for a teacher
for your guild. I hope you find something interesting on
each page.
To give you a taste of some of the new work I have been doing,
below is a graphic of a fulled wool star block with a thread
lace center square. Thread lace is a wonderful way to use
up those little leftover pieces of threads, yarns and fibers.
I keep a piece by my sewing machine so I can clean out the last
bits of threads on my bobbins and spools.
