CRAZY AND SANE DESIGNS

Crazy and Sane is what I call some of my quilt designs because they combine traditional (sane) block designs with crazy pieced units.  An easy way to visualize this would be to crumb piece a square and use that square as the center square in a star block. 

CRAZY FLYING GEESE

In this lap quilt I crazy pieced the center wedge shapes in MANY black, white and gray cotton prints. The corner triangles were done in batiks and when the blocks are set on point you get Flying Geese flying in opposing directions.

This quilt was long arm machine quilted in an overall pattern which is pretty much invisible amongst all the crazy piecing.
