BOILED WOOL, FELTED WOOL, FULLED WOOL continued

WATERLILIES was my next fulled wool project, a small wallhanging. Again all the wools were recycled woolen clothing. The appliques are Ultrasuede. I stitched the pieces together using a machine joining stitch that has two lines of stitching 1/4" apart with a zigzag going between the two lines. Because I was using the same stitch throughout the entire piece I used a varie-gated fiber, Wildflowers by Caron, as the decorative fiber.

As an added touch I bound it in an irregular stripe featuring all the colors in the wools. You cannot see it in my picture but the leaf shape is quilted in a wreath circle in the center.
