FULLED WOOL CRAZY QUILTS

Allie Aller of Washington state wanted to do something different; she wanted to piece a landscape using the fulled wool.

As you can see she did a beautiful job with her piecing and her fibers. The trees are Russian punch embroidery onto a separate fabric, then appliqued onto the wool. The house is also appliqued.

That large purple area is all French knots, to represent the lavender fields in Washington.

She also appliqued a cotton hand dyed sky fabric which got me to thinking about other dye effects I could do on the wet wool. I have since experimented with bleeding one color into another while the wool is still wet.
