The red pieced bowl worked so well that I decided to take it a step further and crazy piece the large square.  This involved a little more fussing with the edge of the bowl but a little extra fusible web took care of any loose fabrics.  Again I used a single coordinating fabric for the outside of the bowl.

 Now obviously I am not going to be using this bowl for potato chips or such, but it's fine for displaying lightweight items.

Or you could crazy piece one out of Christmas fabrics then fill the bowl with small sparkly ornaments for a centerpiece.
